“Before I joined Nijhuis Group 9 years ago, I had been working in production at Philips for 18 years. I mainly did executive work there. When you go from such a big company to a smaller one, you notice that you are seen more as a human being. In the beginning, Carolien also worked extensively in production and together we built up the company.

Meanwhile, I do all sorts of things. I train new colleagues, take care of product quality control and arrange staff planning. I also participate in all production tasks. This is also important to me, because it allows me to train others well. When new machines arrive, I am always the first to ‘tinker around’ with them. The good thing is that all colleagues find learning new things normal. That works so nicely.”
