Lars speaking

“I joined our company as a junior turner 5 years ago and learnt from the experience of colleagues. At school, I needed a bit more guidance. I got the impression that my career options and learning ability were limited. Still, I wanted to develop myself because I wanted to learn welding. Practically but also theoretically, I wanted to be able to do more.

The company offered the scope to take up Level 3 Construction Banking. I ‘just’ passed this in one go with very high marks! It turns out, that with gaining (self)confidence you can do much more that you sometimes think yourself. It also helped enormously that my colleagues believed in me and actually gave me difficult work and helped me with it. “Just do it!”, they would say. And now? Now I am making products independently and rotating nicely as a full-fledged craftsman!”
